Dear Familia!
Happy New Moon in Virgo! It's my birthday tomorrow, September 19!
I can’t help but go down memory lane to what year 54 was all about! It was the year my youngest son Ronin graduated from high school and I became an empty nester after one of the hardest years of my life. I embarked on what was to be a year of travel around the world for my SoulFire Pilgrimage to “Surf-Pray-Love”, heal my heart, offer seva (sacred service), visit the ashrams of my gurus, take a sabbatical from teaching yoga, and be able to run my Soul on Fire Yogini Entrepreneurs Mentorship Group as I traveled.
It all began just before my birthday last September, and I was blessed to hit about half of my destinations: Colombia, India, Nepal, a brief stop in London, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Although Indonesia and Europe never happened, I have been blessed to be in Costa Rica for eight months now!
Looking back, I am amazed at the growth, healing, and transformation that has happened in a year none of us will ever forget. I was able to spend time in the yoga motherland of the world, deepen my practices, feed the hungry with my own hands, meet spiritual seekers from all over the world, surf everywhere I went, and be embraced by people AND monkeys from India, Nepal, and Costa Rica!
I have never been more grateful to have an online business, not only for my own sustainability, but in order to help the women in my group to learn how to pivot in the face of global calamity, and create their own businesses serving their gifts so passionately from the comfort of their own homes.
I got through year two of my grief journey, continued learning to feel into my new “spiritual relationship” with Cheyne, kept his brothers close despite the miles between us, and deepened my own self love and healing journey.
I knew that part of what I wanted this year to be about was to wipe the dust off the mirror of my heart, and see what wants to come through me in this next phase of my life. I have had some major realizations this year that I would like to share with you;
⭐️ The Bhakti path of love, service, and devotion is what I want to share most in all of my yoga offerings. What makes me come alive is sharing the practices and philosophy that have helped me survive and thrive through the challenges and joys of life.
⭐️ It is time for me to become more involved in reversing global warming, working towards a true democracy, and being a part of bringing forth a thriving, just, and sustainable world FOR ALL. The Gamechangers course I took from Pachamama awakened the activist in me that is now taking steps to get more involved in these big issues of our times. I know I will not see racial justice, world peace, or a thriving planet in my lifetime, but I know I want to be a part of the movement towards that goal for all the children, creatures, and eco- systems of the future.
⭐️ I am ready to be my own teacher, I am ready to meet my soulmate, I am ready to be my most authentic self, I am ready to serve my gifts with confidence and humility, I am ready to surrender and let God love me and lead me to be a beneficial presence in the world.
Bless you for taking the time to read my LoveLetter and being a part of my soul family! May this new moon and the last days of summer (or winter, depending where you are on the hemisphere!) bless you and hold you in all the ways you need most right now.
Remember that even as things may look chaotic on the outside, there is a new world being birthed that we can train our eyes to see beyond the visible reality.
May the Equinox be a catalyst for us to leave the past behind, see the positive momentum that is being revealed, and be guided from within to take action to embody our highest expression. I truly believe in The Power of Practice to strengthen our body, mind, and Spirit for these times more than ever!
Let’s imagine a beautiful world where all are truly equal under the sun, where the planet can rest and heal, and where all the children of the world are fed, loved, and living with a Soul on Fire!
♥️
Amor, Peace, & Felicidad to all!
Monica
PS ~ This photo of me with the monkey was taken at my guru, Neem Karoli Baba’s Ashram in Varanasi, India. It seems monkeys have followed me all over the world this year! Maybe it’s a sign to stay playful, joyful, and grateful!
