Known as Saga Dawa, it is one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist holidays, which marks the birth, enlightenment and PariNirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni.
This sacred day is commemorated by doing spiritual practice, pilgrimage, and acts of merit and generosity, which are said to be multiplied 100,000 times!
As a student of Tantrik Buddhism for many years, I have benefited by the teachings and practices of the Buddha, and had the joy and honor to be able to share them with my student friends, including now as I step more deeply onto my path of teaching Tantra.
I will be co-leading a Nepal Spiritual Adventure with Seth Quigg 11.9-23, and sharing the practices and wisdom of the Buddha as we trek and offer service, and I can’t think of a better way to embody the practices in the hOMeland! dm for more info!
Of all the dharma teachings, and there are many, the one that has had its most profound impact on me is that of compassion.
Self compassion, which is a form of self-love, awakens the ability to accept yourself in all your colors and shadows.
From that wellspring of self compassion, you naturally deepen your compassion for others.
Compassion is one of the most advanced qualities of this being human, and what the world needs now more than ever!
“ Teach this triple truth to all:
A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew Humanity.”
~Buddha
