No one could have predicted the ways that 2020 unfolded. When I began the SOF mentorship in January I was a different person with different aims. Then came spring 2020 with a pandemic that ripped away veils to reveal deeply rooted inequities and destructive polarizations in this world. My initial career plans were no longer compelling enough, and I had to take a deeper look at how I truly wanted to show up in the world. I was grateful for the anchor and heart of the women and leaders in this mentorship program. Monica and Jackie created a safer container with their authenticity, unwavering support, and devoted commitment to reminding us that our work and individual gifts were needed more than ever now.
The structure of the program addressed so many of my needs. The monthly live zoom calls, enriching presentations and check-ins via our Facebook group were a way to remember that I was not alone in my process, that I had the encouragement of other women and teachers. The one-on-one sessions with Monica further inspired me to identify and hone my specific skills and passions as well as begin to transform these into plans for action. While Monica is kind and respectful in her delivery, she is also direct and unafraid to point out areas that we can uplevel, so we can thrive as entrepreneurs with heart. Monica helps me see it up close and far and wide; truly one of her many gifts that keeps on giving. I joined Monica's mentorship program two years ago. At the beginning quite honestly I did not know what to expect. I was going through a transition period in my life, both my kids were leaving for college, and I knew I needed to bring change. I had followed Monica on facebook for a while and I admired her strength and courage and I figured that was what I needed.
Looking back now I can say that "bringing change" was an understatement, what a transformation ride this has been. I feel that in the last two years I have grown spiritually, mentally, emotionally. Monica is so much more than a business mentor, she changes lives. Over the past four years of working with Monica I have received the guidance and support I needed to make real tangible growth in my life and business, and I am so excited to continue this journey with her.
Monica fanned my entrepreneurial fire and in the first year of working with her, she assisted me with everything from making business cards and flyers, hosting my first series of workshops, and completing my 500 hr certification in Prana Vinyasa. In the years that followed, she supported me in my goal of facilitating yoga teacher trainings of my own. With Monica's gentle push, I created and launched my first year-long Seasonal Living Yoga Immersion program, which I completed this past September and it was a total success.
