I am 100% Colombian blood 🇨🇴 (and proud of it)

and though I was born in USA, so much of who I am is shaped because of my Colombian roots.

Colombia isn't just a country to me. It's my people, my ancestry, my soul language.

Going back to Colombia later in life - 1st to visit family, then decades later to to teach retreats and trainings - felt like reclaiming a missing part of myself.

I began to understand myself in a deeper way, through the people, the culture, the land.

There's a rhythm, a warmth, a passion in me that is purely Colombian.

It is in my devotion. My joy. My love for connection, music, dance, art, beauty, and soul.

Colombia is a land of extremes - lush jungles, sacred mountains, indigenous peoples, plant medicines, two oceans, and so much more!

It's a country with a history of struggle and deep resilience - and it continues to rise, full of life and spirit.

So when people ask where l'm from, I say:

I am Colombian American.

That feels like a true description of me and it feels good.

For me, it has been one of the great joys of my life to get to go back there to reconnect with friends, family, culture, spend so much time with my beloved mother, and teach the Tantra and Yoga of my heart.
